From delectable Chocolate Cake to Chocolate Tart to Brownies to Quiches to Chocolate Chip Cookies, I bake everything.

          Spring Onion Quiche

I know an oven normally terrifies almost everyone. There are very few who let go of their fears and try their hand at baking. I also came in the same category until I started baking and eventually fell in love with it. The aroma of vanilla which fills the entire house after baking is beyond words. Baking is something where simple ingredients like chocolate, butter, vanilla, flour come together and create magic. There are just simple rules, processes to be followed and tools that need to be understood.

I remember the first batch of cookies that I baked. It was an absolute disaster but second time it was better and third time it was perfect. Well they say that third time is a charm!!! Everytime I bake these cookies, my niece can't believe that these are home made. Enough said, I don't like to praise myself so why don't you try this recipe yourself and update me on the same.

Golden rules on baking- Always preheat the oven for 10 mins and follow the measurements. Every oven is different so understand your oven and constantly monitor it. Baking perfects with time so don't give up if first time it doesn't turn out well.

Ingredients

3/4 cup chocolate chips/ roughly chopped dark chocolate ( Use Morde or Lotus)
60 grams  amul butter
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup powdered sugar

Method

Cream the butter in a bowl till light and fluffy. Add vanilla essence. Sift together the flour, baking powder, powdered sugar and fold into the butter mixture lightly using hands.

Reserve a few chocolate chips and mix the rest with cookie dough. Divide the dough into twelve equal portions by using Tbsp. Just press down the dough in the Tbsp and then tap onto a chopping board upside down. Now flatten the cookie lightly by pressing between your palms.

Place cookies a little apart on a greased tray. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top and bake at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes. Remove from oven. Let the cookies rest for 10 mins outside on the tray and then transfer to a plate. Store in an airtight container after the cookies are completely cool.
