Mango chilli lemonade

There is no love sincere than the love of food -   Quote by George Bernard Shaw If you ask me, there is no love sincere than the love for mangoes! Mangoes have officially arrived and what better way to start using them than in a gorgeous drink!! Mango chilli lemonade happened over the weekend and I am so glad I made this drink. Its sweet, sour, salty, mildly spiced and bursting with the flavour of mangoes. So so refreshing!!! I know I will be making this lemonade all summer to accompany all of my favourite appetisers. It will go really well with Roasted Potato wedges , Vegetable Tikka , Bruschetta Bar , Green goodness hummus and whole wheat pita chips . Not to forget Margherita Pizza made with homemade pizza dough and sauce . This is a perfect summer drink and an interesting twist on regular lemonade. Mango and green chilli really work well together and to make this lemonade more delicious, I added some chilii-salt mix on the rim too. Adding gr...

Mango-Chia seed pudding - Gluten free

Chia seeds is full of antioxidants, fiber and omega-3 fatty acid, these are the new superfood! Because of high fiber percentage, chia seeds absorb upto 12 times their weight in liquids. While soaking, seeds develop jelly like coating which gives chia-based drinks a distinct texture. I have fond memories of these chia seeds soaked and dunked in refreshing Roohafaza lemonade and Milk rose. If I am being honest, I would gulp down my drinks only to experience soft crackling of wobbly chia seeds between my teeth. Mornings can be hectic. People often blame it on time and skip breakfast. Time shouldn't be the reason. This nutritious creamy dreamy chia pudding is an easy make-ahead breakfast which hardly needs any preparation. With season's fresh mangoes in house, it seemed only fair to use these juicy and pulpy mangoes for this pudding. Instead of soaking chia seeds in milk, I have used coconut milk. Classic combination of coconut-mango brings out the best of tropical ...

Mango Smoothie!

MANGO SMOOTHIE If you are like me, you'll always find reason to eat mango. Surprisingly I had my first smoothie at a Juice bar only few days back, it was really yum. I decided to make the same smoothie at home using mango! This was my first attempt at it, it's not rocket science anyway. You just put all ingredients in a blender and press start button. That's it! Your smoothie will be ready. But first thing's first, let's talk about what "Smoothie" is exactly! Smoothie as the name suggests is a smooth emulsion of fruits, ice, museli, oats, yoghurt, honey, juice, milk, ice-cream etc. There's no rule of-course, you can add more ingredients or remove some ingredients. Smoothies can be even made with vegetables. Just remember that consistency of a smoothie is thicker than that of a milkshake. Often referred to as a Health Shake, it's super filling and really very good for health if made the right way. Also, it's ideal for workin...

Mango Shrikhand!

Cold, refreshing and creamy Mango shrikhand made with season's ripe Alphonso. Sounds moreish right? I make it every year during summer and my folks absolutely love it.  Shrikhand is an Indian dessert made with hung yoghurt. I love adding finely chopped mangoes to it which makes it even more delicious than its plain version. This recipe is a 5 ingredient recipe, hardly a recipe even because very very simple to make. As you dig into this cold  and creamy shrikhand, sweet and sour notes coupled with soft pieces of mangoes leave you wanting for more! Well it's summer already and we all know how good yoghurt is for the body.  It keeps your body and stomach cool and quenched. Its probiotic and good for gut. Yoghurt has tons of uses. It can be used to make cucumber raita, chaas, dips, sandwiches. Its a healthier alternative to mayonnaise for dressing salads. I add it often in  Papaya smoothie and Strawberry and oats smoothie . Its exc...
