Minty gingered lemonade

Minty gingered lemonade! Just what you need in this crazy crazy October heat and humidity and it also happens to be an amazing drink for Diwali meet and greet too. Fresh mint, ginger syrup and a touch of lemon juice! Its super-refreshing, delicious and so pretty. Back when I travelled to Hampi in 2017 with my 6 month old baby, I was obsessed with this drink called Lemon Nana which was served in pretty much all the cafes there. It was a fresh lemonade which was taken up a notch by adding pureed mint to make the drink even more amazing. Hampi is all about exploring the historical sites on foot and this drink used to really refresh and energize me when we would stop by at a café to take a break. So this lemonade is basically inspired from Lemon Nana and instead of regular sugar syrup, I have made ginger syrup here because I love adding ginger in my drinks, especially the citrus ones. Remember the Orange and ginger masala lemonade I shared last year? Well oranges are in season...

Home-made Kala khatta lemonade

Summer is officially here and I come bearing the most amazing and refreshing lemonade! Home-made Kala khatta lemonade which is as delicious as easy it is to make.  It's a delicious mix of black grape juice, sugar, lemon mint and hint of spices. Its sweet, tangy, pretty, super easy and ice-cold- it's the perfect drink for onset of summer. Gone is the time of soups, all I want in summer is refreshing drinks to keep myself hydrated. This kala khatta lemonade has become my new favourite drink and I am pretty sure that kids are going to love it too. It would make the perfect welcome drink too when you have people over. We all have grown up eating baraf golas in summer and kala khatta has always been the most popular flavour to drizzle upon the golas. This lemonade is inspired from my childhood memories and I was ecstatic when it turned out good, even better if I must stay. It starts with reducing black grape juice and sugar together along with some citric acid whi...

Rose masala spritzer

This drink Rose masala spritzer is inspired from my childhood memories. But first things first, how cute are these jars? I am obsessed with serving drinks in empty glass jars. FYI- Even the most happening restaurants are serving beverages in glass jars these days. As soon as mom would go in her room for afternoon nap, me and my brother would silently take out ice from freezer and crush it with a rolling pin between kitchen towl. Only thing left to do after that was to fill our bowls with  beaten ice and slather it with our choice of syrup which was always Roohafza (rose syrup) for me and Rasna (orange) for my brother. Remember Roohafza? Every kid in India knows what Roofaza is!After a long day at school, nothing seemed more refreshing than a glass of chilled Roohaafza. Made with just rose syrup and cold water, this famous Indian drink is served as a welcome drink in most of the houses. Another drink which is very popular in India during summer is Masala soda.
