Apple-cinnamon loaf cake with Salted Caramel Sauce!

Apples give me a nostalgic feeling. Fruits and vegetables which I hated most as a kid are my favourite now. Lets take papaya for instance, I couldn't stand the smell of it, let alone eating and now day feels incomplete without eating it. This papaya smoothie is my latest obsession:- Yoghurt+ Papaya+Milk+Honey (Stir mint leaves with spoon once you pour smoothie in the glass). You have to try this one! Another fruit which I never enjoyed as a kid is apple. You know how they say "An apple a day keeps a doctor away". I never gave a damn to it. Only time I had apple was when I would be down with cold and fever. Mom would par-boil apple with cinnamon and serve in a saucer-like plate to comfort me. Not that I am saying that I liked falling sick to have apple but cooked in its own juice, apples did soothe me and tasted yumm! Apples satisfy hunger for fewer calories;  a perfect snack.  Compared to other fruits like strawberries,k...

Pear and Apple Salad in Spicy honey-lime dressing { Gluten-free +Vegan +Jain}

Pear and Apple salad in Spicy honey-lime dressing   Packed with high nutrition, fruits are great for snacking. My evening snack always includes a cup of green tea and fruits. I love fruits and love them even more with a delicious dressing. The tangy white wine vinegar in this salad does magic over raisins which become chewy, sweet and sour all at the same time. Yum! Making salad dressing is as simple and as fast as shaking up a jar. Salad dressing is nothing but emulsion of oil, vinegar and other flavours. Extra virgin olive oil works best for making a dressing. When it comes to vinegar, you can use balsamic, white wine vinegar, red wine vinegar, sherry vinegar, rice vinegar and lemon juice. Mustard, garlic, chilli, pepper, jam, ginger, soy sauce could be other flavours you can add to the dish. INGREDIENTS (Serves 1) Apple- 1 Pear- 1 Pomegranate - 1/4th cup Raisins- 1/4th cup Extra virgin olive oil- 2 Tbsp White wine vinegar- 1 Tbsp Chilli flakes-...

Apple Crumble!

Well like most of us, my fiancee too is not particularly fond of eating apples but I was determined  to make him try this dessert!  I am not particularly fond of them too but I sure love Apple Crumble!!! Its one of the quickest and simplest desserts you can make . Whether with a big mug of hot black coffee or vanilla ice-cream, it is totally addictive. This recipe has also been passed over to me by my bhabhi...Its amazing how a new member comes in your family and you get introduced to so many new dishes and different kind of food experience!! Apples are in season and you have to try this recipe for the deliciousness and ease with which it gets ready. Best thing about fruit based desserts is you don't have to add too much sugar because fruits are naturally sweet so you can regulate the usage of sugar ( trust me, only your tongue craves for too much sugar and not your body!). You might find it weird to use lemon juice in this dessert but it goes extremely well with...
