Instant stove-top classic granola

If you are into healthy breakfast, then this 8-ingredient instant stove-top granola recipe is for you! Instant, crunchy, healthy, delicious and loaded with fibre in the form of oats. Granola is essentially a breakfast food which is made by mixing rolled oats, nuts, seeds with honey, coconut oil, flavouring and then baking in oven till crisp. Since it requires 20-25 minutes of baking in oven, I came up with the idea of making it on stove-top and voila! It turned out as amazing as the baked one and saved me a lot of time too! I have used maple syrup as a sweetener in this recipe but you can go for non vegan option like honey too. Adding coconut oil makes this granola extra crunchy and naturally sweet but go ahead and use other neutral oils like olive oil, canola oil and vegetable oil if you can't find out coconut oil. This granola makes for a perfect breakfast to kick-start your day on a healthy note. Loaded with nuts, seeds and healthy fat in form of cocon...

Aloo chaat

Aloo chaat is a savoury potato snack which is a very popular Indian street food. Its one of those recipes which I enjoy only if my mom makes it. There are so many memories attached to it. Mom always makes it around festive season. I can't quite make it as well as my mother in terms of balance of flavours but I do manage to crack it pretty close. It's made by mixing boiled and fried potatoes with fruits and spices. Golden and crisp on the outside and soft in inside, its such a treat when potatoes soak up all the spices and juices released from fruits. Not to forget the freshness lent by mint. Versatility of potato is such that it can turn something so simple into so exciting. This sweet, salty, tangy and spicy chaat can be served as an appetizer/snack to your guests during Diwali. Diet: Vegetarian Serving : 2-3 Type: Appetizer/Snack/Light meal Ingredients 5-6 medium sized potatoes 1/4th cup cashews (cut into halves) 2 Tbsp ghee 1 Apple- peeled and chopped ...

Margherita Pizza

You know that Margherita Pizza which is always listed in the menu of Pizza joints and which you fancy making at home? With my easy  pizza dough  recipe, pizza can be made at home in no time! All you need to do is choose your toppings. Be creative and literally add anything. Just like this Margherita Pizaa, you just have to know what flavours work well together. Marinara sauce/Pizza sauce + Basil+Mozarella, you just can't wrong here. Thin crust v/s thick crust, veggies v/s no veggies, people seem to be always debating on their choice of pizza! I love a good Margherita Pizza which has a thin and crisp crust. One of my favourite joints, Pizza by the way in Mumbai serves best pizzas in town. Paired with a glass of cold lemon iced tea, their signature Bombay Masala pizza is to die for! That sauce, oh that sauce! And that golden bubbling buttery cheese on top of that sauce! Gone to the heaven and back! Off late I have been feeling that Pizzas are ridiculously expensive ...

Strawberry and grape salad in Orange vinaigrette - Vegan+Gluten free

Forgive me if I have been bombarding my instagram and facebook page with photos of strawberries! I want to make most of this pretty fruit while it's still available. My morning these days start with this delicious Strawberry smoothie and I can't tell you how good I feel from inside after having it! From Pizzas and desserts to fried feta cheese at beautiful greek restaurant Thalasaa, I overindulged during my recent trip to Goa. I am that kind of person who feels guilty very easily about eating unhealthy! So I have been eating a lot of salad since I came back, especially Watermelon and feta cheese salad , Carrot salad and Raw Papaya salad . I am really on a salad spree! I believe in consuming a lot of seasonal produce. Fruits are something I can have all day. Grapes and oranges are  also making their presence felt these days. So here I am sharing yet another recipe using strawberries but there's grapes and oranges too!  Dressed in orange juice vinaigrette, thi...

Comforting Barley Soup - Vegan

Soothing sun, warm clothes, scarves, piping hot makki  ki roti made on segree, these are some of the many things I miss in Mumbai.  My parents stay in Rajasthan, mother has been complaining. Sun hasn't come out since since a week. Every winter, my father cleans the segree so he can enjoy coal kissed tan on his hands. That dreaded moment when you have to step out of the warm quilt!  If only I could be there! Tucked in winter wear and wrapped in a shawl, I loved sipping on ginger tea, hot chocolate and comforting soups. As much as I hate summers, I really crave for winters here! ( big shout out to Meenu bhabhi) Hot soups are heart warming in cold weather, so comforting! Not that I am saying that I don't like regular tomato soup or vegetable soup , but change is always good. I had recently shared recipe of Thai soup Tom Kha which has been liked a lot by readers. Another favorite in Shah family is tangy Minestrone soup. Everyone loves it and when I add fresh basil, it...
