Eggless whole wheat chocolate pancakes

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. There's nothing better than starting your day with a healthy and delicious breakfast and if its easy to make then even better.

Today I am sharing recipe of these fluffy and delicious Eggless whole wheat chocolate pancakes. They are nutritious, wholesome and insanely chocolatey. Made with very little sugar and almost no butter, these are perfect for your lazy weekend breakfast.

Pancakes are traditionally made with eggs, milk and flour but I have used wholewheat flour and yoghurt in this recipe to make pancakes healthy. Toppings can be honey, chocolate sauce, maple syrup, fruits and nuts of your choice. Since strawberries are in season, I have added strawberries and some chocolate sauce for more decadence. But you can go classic route by drowning your pancakes in honey or maple syrup.

If you have ever given a look at my recipe index, you would know that Smoothie is my favourite breakfast. Eggless, chocolaty, fluffy and wholesome pancakes made with whole wheat flour.

Type: Breakfast
Diet: Vegetarian
Serving: 3-4 people

Ingredients

1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup yoghurt
1 tsp baking powder/1 ttso ENO or any other fruit salt
1 Tbsp sugar
1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate (I used Morde)
1/4th  Tsp vanilla essence
1 cup water
pinch of salt

Method

Prepare pancake batter by mixing together whole wheat flour, yogurt, sugar, chocolate, vanilla essence, salt and water.

Let the batter rest for one hour.

Now add baking powder and give a good mix.

On a hot non tick griddle/pan, pour about 1/4th cup batter to make pancake. You can make about 2-3 pancakes on big griddle but just keep enough space between them.

Cook till underside of pancake becomes golden brown and bubbles start breaking.

Using a greasing brush, apply butter on upper-side of pancake and flip with a spatula to cook for further 5 minutes.

Make more pancakes and stack them on a plate.

Garnish with chopped strawberries and drizzle chocolate sauce( I used Hersheys)

Serve immediately.
