If you are like me, you'll always find reason to eat mango. Surprisingly I had my first smoothie at a Juice bar only few days back, it was really yum. I decided to make the same smoothie at home using mango! This was my first attempt at it, it's not rocket science anyway. You just put all ingredients in a blender and press start button. That's it! Your smoothie will be ready.
But first thing's first, let's talk about what "Smoothie" is exactly! Smoothie as the name suggests is a smooth emulsion of fruits, ice, museli, oats, yoghurt, honey, juice, milk, ice-cream etc. There's no rule of-course, you can add more ingredients or remove some ingredients. Smoothies can be even made with vegetables. Just remember that consistency of a smoothie is thicker than that of a milkshake.
Often referred to as a Health Shake, it's super filling and really very good for health if made the right way. Also, it's ideal for working people who don't have time in the morning to whip up hot breakfast. I love my smoothie with fruits so depending on what fruit is available at home, I use that.
Yoghurt- 1/2 cup
Honey- 1 tbsp
Oats- 1/2 cup
Milk- 1/2 cup
Vanilla essence- 1/2 tsp
Peel and cut mango into chunks.
In a blender, add mango, yoghurt, honey, oats, vanillas essence and milk. Blend everything together till you get a smooth consistency.
INSIGHT ON SMOOTHIES
Smoothies turn out great when made with fruits like banana, strawberry, mango, blueberries.
You can freeze the fruits which are in season and use it later for making smoothies.
Green smoothie is great too too which is made by using combination of green veggies like spinach, cucumber and fruits.
Add museli instead of oats if you like crunchier texture.
