Watermelon and jalapeño lemonade!

It's unfair that we talk about summers and not about watermelon. Most people believe that because watermelon is 92% water, it has very little nutritional value but that's wrong. Eating watermelon means packing up your body with multi-vitamins. Watermelon fights stress and makes you sleep better.

To be honest with you, it is quite recent that I have started consuming watermelon. I am getting the hang of this fruit because of this watermelon juice I have been blending up!!! It's really very simple and adding jalapeños gives a spicy and tangy kick to it. You can even add green chilli if you like your juice spicier.

Have you ever sprinkled salt and red chilli powder over watermelon, it really brings out the flavour. I like making this drink even spicier so that's the reason behind this salty and chilly rim on this drink!!!

  1. 1/2  small watermelon
  2. Jalapeño  5-6 slices
  3. Juice of 1/2 lemon
  4. Rock Salt- 1/2 tsp
  5. Salt - 1/2 tsp
  6. Black pepper - pinch
  7. Sugar - 1 tbsp

  • Cut watermelon into chunks.
  • Blend watermelon, jalapeños, lemon juice, salt, rock salt, pepper and sugar together.

  • Rub rim of glass with lemon wedge and make salt-red chilli mixture stick to it by turning it upside down in a plate having the mixture.

  • Refrigerate juice for a while or add ice and serve.

Stay cool this summer and drink lot of water to keep your body hydrated.
