Strawberry and Pineapple layered smoothie

Naturally sweet,vegan and gluten free too!!

Winter season has officially started and strawberries can be spotted in abundance in every lane of Mumbai. I remember tasting these rubies first time when we made a family trip to Mahabaleshwar back in 5th grade. I was so fascinated with fresh and luscious strawberry milkshakes, ice-creams and strawberry cream that I thought it was the most amazing fruit ever!

Since then every winters, I gorge on them in pretty much every form. They are great in salads, milkshakes, ice creams, cake and smoothies which is my favorite way of eating them. Last year, I had shared four amazing recipes using strawberries- Strawberry and grape salad, Strawberry yoghurt smoothie, Strawberry brownie trifle and Strawberry  Rabdi. I am sharing a new recipe of Strawberry smoothie today which is ultra creamy and so so delicious.

I love starting my day with healthy smoothies. Knowing that you have already put seasonal fruits in your system by 10 am, you feel so proud and don't even have to worry about eating fruits for the rest of the day. In summers, I turn to my Tropical Mango-Spinach layered smoothie, Peach breakfast bowl and in winters Strawberry smoothie. Not to mention, my Papaya smoothie which can be made all year. They are all so amazing.

Smoothies are a great way to put fruits and greens in your system. There are so many variations you can try. Be innovative but don't forget to put atleast one of your favorite fruit.

This two layered smoothie is creamy, healthy, delicious and packed with goodness of seasonal winter fruits like strawberries, oranges and pineapple. I have used banana as a base which offers creamy texture and sweetness in smoothies. Orange juice thins down smoothie and gives it a nice fresh citrusy punch. Chia seeds give it a fun wobbly texture and packs the smoothie with iron,Omega-3 acid and additional fiber.

Creamy, healthy and naturally sweet layered smoothie made with seasonal fruits- perfect for breakfast or snack at any time of the day!

Diet: Vegetarian/Vegan/Gluten free
Serving: 1


Strawberry smoothie

1+1/2 cup chopped strawberries
1/2 Banana
1/4th cup orange juice
2 tsp chia seeds

Pineapple smoothie

1 cup Pineapple
1/2 Banana
1/4th cup orange juice


Add all the ingredients for making strawberry smoothie in a blender and blend till creamy.

Pour it into smoothie mug or a big glass.

Now place ingredients for pineapple smoothie in blender and blend.

Pour pineapple smoothie over strawberry smoothie.

Consume immediately.
